Kisha – Class of 2010

Kisha, who is my boyfriend’s sister, recently graduated with her BS degree and wanted to met up for a short session to capture some photos of her great accomplishment. Even though it may have been a long time coming she did it and we are all very, very proud of her!

The session started with the traditional cap & gown photos at Robert E Lee Park in Dallas.

Then we captured a few casual photos.

Kisha is a natural in front of the camera, if you can’t tell. She needed no direction at all.

This one’s my favorite! Candid and having a great time!

Trash the Dress Shoot {Dallas Wedding Photography}

Getting to participate in this photo shoot, just made me realize even more that I want to specialize in Wedding Photography. I mean, love taking pictures any chance I get and will continue to do so, but having the opportunity to photograph Bridals & Weddings would be the ultimate for me.

 Trash the Dress Photoshoot+Dallas Wedding Photographer  I didn’t have any external or off camera lighting, so I was depending on others, but I think some of the shots worked.   Trash the Dress Photoshoot+Dallas Wedding PhotographerTrash the Dress Photoshoot+Dallas Wedding Photographer Trash the Dress Photoshoot+Dallas Wedding Photographer Trash the Dress Photoshoot+Dallas Wedding Photographer
I wasn’t able to get very many of the next model, but, I think the ones I did capture came out great!

{Sneak Peek}Trash The Dress Photoshoot

Last Thursday, I attended my second Dallas SmugMug meeting held at the Thanksgiving Tower in Downtown Dallas. The group met for a short time in the Tower Club on the 48th floor to have a presentation presented by SmugMug on meta-tagging before we headed out to the streets to trash some dresses!

Social media guru Candice Cunningham from SmugMug supplied the bridal dresses and some other members of the group got us some really great models to shoot.

I’m still editing the last few, but here’s a sneak peek…

A Day at the Museum

A few weeks ago KJ, my Aunt and I headed over to Fort Worth to meet up with my cousin to enjoy a Sunday at the Fort Worth Museum of Science & Nature.

Fort Worth Museum of Nature & Science

We stopped and took some pictures before we ventured inside.

We also spent some time in the Fort Worth Children’s Museum.

I found this quite amusing. Cabbage Patch Kid dolls are now considered vintage? I beg to differ. I played with them while I was a child and it was NOT that long ago.

And so was the Fort Worth History gallery!

And we ended the afternoon in the Mexico: Festival of Toys exhibit.

 Then it was off to have lunch at Buttons in Fort Worth. Buttons is a Soul food restaurant that I found online while looking for something new to try for lunch that day. It’s seriously my new favorite! I’ve already been twice in the last 2 weeks. And get this, when I ate there yesterday the waitress informed me that they are opening a second location in Addison, TX in September.

I can’t wait!

Diggin’ in the Crates {Volume IV}

The assignment was to shot something of an unusual angle.

The morning that my assignment was due, I dropped my son off with my mom and drove around looking for something that I could capture in an unusual angle. Finally, I decided on a vending machine. Yep, that’s right, what you see below is the front of a Coca Cola vending machine shown in an unusual angle. Needless to say, my teacher loved the artistic view-point that I captured and I received an A for the assignment.

The next picture is a {Nine.Sixteen}Studios original. I wasn’t too familiar with Adobe Photoshop CS4 when I first got it, so while I was trying out some of the different features, I created this masterpiece! LoL!

Diggin in the Crates {Volume III}

Last November, I took and early morning flight out to Las Vegas to help one of my best friends celebrate her 30th birthday.

Here are some photos that were taken with my point-n-shoot camera shortly after take off, around 6:30am aboard a Southwest Airlines flight.

I think these would look great framed and showcased on the walls of the Southwest Airlines corporate offices!!

A Leap of Faith

I was able to great deal on a the Canon 40D kit from Circuit City when they were going out of business and the night I brought my camera home, I read the manual from front to back. But it wasn’t until a month later that I had actually started taking pictures with my camera.

I was scared. For the first time in my life I actually knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a Photographer but I doubted myself before I even got started.

On a cool Sunday afternoon last February, I grabbed my son and we headed to the park so I could practice. Practice makes perfect, right?

Below are a bunch of SOOC images that I took that day.

Here’s our day at the park!
